Mudgeeraba Memorial Hall – 62 Railway Street, Mudgeeraba
~2018 dates to be announced~
Established in 2004 by Mudgeeraba identity Earle Hinschen, The d’Arcy Doyle Art Awards immediately proved itself as one of the top visual art awards, not only in Queensland but further afield.
Now 13 years on, ‘The Doyles’ as it is colloquially known has become an important Australian Art Festival for artists nationwide and art collectors. Over the years, winners have gone on to become professional artists and they still continue to enter their works in our exhibition.
The primary category is ‘Landscape’, as Doyle himself was a noted landscape artist, with other categories being ‘Still Life’ and ‘Portrait/Figures’.
The 1st Prize winner of the 2011 Landscape Award, Geoff Hale, said “over the past few years I have watched ‘The Doyles’ grow in size and reputation, and it has rapidly become an important cultural event for Mudgeeraba as well as the emerging and professional artists nationwide who participate. The quality selection of artworks exhibited at this event each year is certainly a drawcard.”
Both the Junior d’Arcy Doyle Art Awards and the “Artist in Residence Programme” is proving to be very successful and we will be continually expanding the Junior awards in the following years to come.
The Doyles are extremely proud to be encouraging future emerging artists of tomorrow. With continued support from our generous sponsors and participating artists, this exhibition will carry on its legacy of “giving back to the community”.
We invite you to take a look at our Gallery and enjoy the quality of the art presented for this prestigious Awards.
